Another away performance that is a total contrast to what is on show when playing at home. The game may not have been one that can be described as one of high quality, but for me Wolves at least gave it a go.
I'm often of the feeling that when Wolves concede as early as they did, i thought the floodgates would open, the first Hull goal can only be described as a keeper blunder, nine times out of ten Ikeme gathers the ball and game continues.
I can't say Helan has really impressed me so far in his time at Wolves, but i thought last night, and especially the first half he was a big threat down the Wolves left hand side, delivering decent crosses and the one for Edwards to core. I did mention at the game though, bar the Edwards goal and maybe the chance before it where Price could have done better with his header that Wolves don't get enough bodies in the box.
The second half really from both sides was a bore fest, both Ikeme and McGregor making one save each, Sigurdarson one that the Hull keeper tipped over.
It says a lot in games when the side you're facing can bring on players like Snodgrass and that his free-kick via the back of Ikeme can go on and win it late on. The goal though and the free-kick were a sign of things to come after Wolves were getting pulled up for niggly free-kicks throughout the game. I'm surprised in the first half that Deslandes wasn't punished in the area when Elmohamady went over easily, but the way the ref was going, i expecteed it to be awarded, even though i don't think it was one.
Wolves for me did enough for a point, but i think we'd already settled for that, goals are what counts and Wolves are struggling to create and score them. It was a young side on the field last night and experience will have done the likes of Deslandes no harm at all.
