A decent atmosphere for the first in a long time in a game at Molineux. I'm trying to pick some positives out of the game and up until Blues brought on Maghoma it was Wolves that created chances in front of goal. Coady with a couple of efforts and Saville's header. Going back to the point of trying to take some positives from the game, i think Kortney Hause did himself no harm at all, nothing spectacular, but was able to bring the ball out of the back four a few times. Another positive is the clean sheet.
Again, as it has been pointed out for a while on various Wolves forums by myself and others, Kenny Jackett tries to set Wolves up with a cautious looking line up. The creativity in the side is hardly there, a few passes and then the ball is given away and Wolves find themselves up against it.
Kenny Jackett again did what he did in this game what he did at the start of the second half against Bristol City in midweek, he brought on Zyro and the change almost proved an instant success with his chance that wasn't too far away.
Walking away the game i spoke briefly to a good friend of mine and i mentioned that i thought Wolves were fortunate not to lose and thought Blues had four decent second half chances, Maghoma, Donaldson, Toral and the excellent chance that fell to former Wolves midfielder David Davis, a good save to deny him by Ikeme. David Davis for me was arguably the bet player on the pitch, but despite a booking in the first half he was involved in everything for Blues and covered a lot of ground.
I find it difficult to understand why it was left so late to introduce Joe Mason, a few players from the 60th minute on looked below par, Sigurdarson and Saville yards behind the opposition when chasing the ball.
I think i've got used to seeing the sort of performance that was on show today, it doesn't matter who's up front, they live off scraps. I'm not expecting anything other than defeat from the trip to Burnley next weekend.
